  Virginia Land Records - James Arbuckle Sr "3rd Wednesday in June 1757, James Arbuckle lived on James River in the present [sic[ Botetourt County." He acquired this land iin1749. It is an area known as Balcony Falls, just south of Glasgow, VA in present-day Rockbridge County Rockbridge County was created from part of Botetourt County in 1778. Botetourt County itself was split off from Augusta County in 1769.
