John Hutcheson's obelisk gravestone in Smyrna Cemetery in Bledsoe Co, TN
He is my great*3 grandfather, and was the first of my Hutcheson line to be born in Tennessee, in 1800. This stone is shared with his wife, Nancy Samantha Billingsley, whose information is on the opposite side.
The cemetery is also known as the "Hutcheson Cemetery". It roughly 10 miles north of Pikeville, Tennessee, and about 3 miles as the crow files (but 12 miles by road) from the Cold Springs community, where many of my Hutcheson relatives lived.
I watched the 2017 full solar solstice in from this cemetery, which is on a hill in the middle of the Sequatchie Valley with views of the mountains of Central Tennessee.
Other Hutchesons and a lot of Kuykendalls are buried about 50 miles to the north in another Smyrna Cemetery, near Cookeville, TN. Cissy Myers' parents are buried about 50 miles to the west in a third Smyrna Cemetery, near Irving College, TN.

Crypt of Samuel Billingsley-detail Of about five mid-19th crypts remaining in the cemetery; this is the only one with a legible engraving. Samuel's brother John (my ancestor) is also reported to have been buried in this cemetery, but I have not found his crypt or stone.
