In 1662, John Billingsley was granted property on the Patuxent River in Calvert County, Maryland that became known as Billingsley Point, even though he died before taking posession of the property, and his sons, who inherited it, sold it fairly soon. Nonetheless, the Billingslay name stuck, and a home built on the property in 1740 is still known as "Billingsley House", and can be rented for events such as parties and weddings. See documents attached to his profile.
A number of documents refer to him as "Major" Billingsley, but the source of that title is not known.
