Mrs. Lieb was born in Germany on December 24, 1843, and was 73 years and one day at the time of her death. She was married in 1867 to Mr. Lieb and they came to America in 1871, arriving at New Ulm, and locating in Cottonwood township, where they remained for five years, after which they moved to Lake Hanska, residing there, where Mr. Lieb was engaged in farming until 19 years ago October last. when he retired and the family came to New Ulm to make their home. Eleven children were born to the couple, six of whom are still living, five having died while young.

Mr. Lieb was born in Germany on August 24, 1844. He was married October 15, 1867, to Miss Eva Simon, and with his wife came to America in 1871, and settled on a farm near Hanska. In 1897 he retired from farming and came to New Ulm to reside. His wife passed away last Christmas Eve.
Mr. Lieb is survived by six children as follows: Mrs. Joseph Ubel, Cambria; John and Joseph Lieb, Hanska; William Lieb, Mrs. Charles Fast, New Ulm; Mrs. Edwin Durbahn, Lafayette. He also leaves 24 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
