[[With notes by Robin Richmond, 9th great grandson of Nathaniel Dickinson]]
[[This is the first of 34 pages of a Dickinson descendancy was recorded in 1848, based on various town records from Amherst, Springfield, Hadley, and Hatfield going back to the 1700s. The data on this page that is of primary interest to me is the record of the children of my immigrant acenstors Nathaniel Dickinson and Anna Binks (who was the widow of William Gull). Some of this data is superseded by data in the article The Correct English Origins of Nathaniel Dickinson and William Gull, Settlers of Wethersfield and Hadley by Clifford L Stott, published in 1998 in volume 152 of the New England Historical and Genealogical Register. Note that the the Amherst town records covers the descendants of Nathaniel Dickinson, whereas the NEHGR article covers his ancestors. The two articles intersect with Nathaniel, Anna, and their children.]]
This numerous family sprang from on Nathaniel Dickinson, who is supposed by S. Judd of Northhampton to have been born on the east coast of England, perhaps on the Isle of Ely. His wife's name was Anne. They had three sons born in Great Britain and came with them, about 1636, to Wethersfield, Connecticus. They settled at Wethersfield and there had six more sons and one daughter. They subsequently moved to Hadley, in Massachusetts, where Mr Nathaniel Dickinson died on the 16th of June 1676
[["The Isle of Ely" is not an island; it is just the district around the town of Ely, which is in Cambridgeshir, and about 40 miles from a North Sea inlet.]]

John, the eldest son of the immigrant Nathaniel Dickinson, had a son, who moved to Wethersfield Ct and a son who died young. The rest of his children were daughters, who were mostly married and whose descendants do not bear the name of Dickinson.
[[The next 33 pages list multiple generations of descendants of most of Nathaniel's children. Unfortunately, the documentation ends with just a brief note about my ancestor, Hezekiah, mentioning only one the most prominent of his 6 children - Johnathan, the oldest brother of my ancestor Adam.]]
