This excerpt is from the chapter on "Detached Families", meaning people with the surname "Corliss" who cannot be traced back to George Carliss, who immigrated to Newbury, Plymouth Colony, in 1639, and who is at the root of the descendancy that forms the bulk of the book.
This excerpts sits in a list of people living in New Jersey, largely (I think) at the time of the book's publication. But I can find no connection from this descendancy to any of the other people in the list, nor indication that anyone in this descendancy was living in New Jersey at that time.
I have lightly edited the text to form two numbered lists - for the five generations of direct Fitzrandolph descendants, and for the eight children of Richard Fitzrandolph and Elizabeth Corlies.
- Robin Richmond, Cleveland, OH, Nov 2019The Elizabeth Corlies above was, no doubt, a daughter of one of the sons of George Corlies, of Shrewsbury, N.J.
