How Madison Richmond really died
How Madison Richmond really died
"Whiskey and a Game of Cards" says the headine in the Kansas CIty Gazette Globe, describing the fight that broke the skull of a drunken and combative Madison Richmond. The article appeared two days after the newspaper eported that his wife simply found him dead in the morning, three days after he promised her he would never drink again. A physician is reported to have said that alcohol had stimulated his heart, which failed after he quit drinking.
