More of my 262 direct ancestors in America lived in Bradley County than in anywhere else in the country - at least 15 of them. Not surprisingly, Bradley County is also the locale where my longest string of ancestors have lived, in three senses:

1. The most consecutive years (over 145), from the time my great*3 grandfather Levi Trewhitt moved arrived in the early 1830s until my grandfather, Clarence Richmond, Sr, died  in 1980,


2. The most consecutive generations of ancestors who lived and died in Bradley County (3), from Levi Trewhitt's daughter Mary Ann through her grandson, my grandfather, Clarence Richmond, Sr., and


3. The most consecutive generations of ancestors who were born or died in Bradley County(5), from Levi Trewhitt through his great-great grandson, my father, Clarence Richmond, Jr.

I know that no one closer to me than 4th cousins live in Bradley County now.
