John Billingsley (1754-1844) served for two years in Revolutionary War as a Private from Rutherford County, North Carolina. His service was broken into four enlistments of six months each beginning in 1776, when he served under Captain James McFadden's Company, of Colonel Hampton's North Carolina Regiment. In 1777 or 1778 he enlisted in Captain John Arnold's Company, Colonel Collier's North Carolina Regiment. In June 1880 he enlisted and served under Captain Britton Fuller's and Captain Jacob William's Companies of Colonel Collier's North Carolina Regiment. While living in Warren County, Kentucky, John Billingsley applied for and received a Revolutionary War Pension of $40 a month (certificate #25545) which was award from March 4, 1831 until his death in 1844.
