[[Search for the family name; in the branch 'Direct Ancestors'.  Select anyone, and, in their Person profile, find and select the "Patriarch". If the earliest ancestor is an immigrant, enter the Patriarch as the "Immigrant Ancestor", and erase this section (Earliest Ancestor) ]]

[[If this section has already been filled out with the earliest ancestor, you don't have to do anything more.
If the earliest ancestor died in Europe, display descendants and select the first immigrant descendant who is marked with an orange dot.
If the earliest ancestor was born in America, delete this section, because you're already covered by the Earliest Ancestor section.]]

Most Recent Ancestor

I think that the easiest way to find the most recent ancestor is to go to "My Page" (from the horizontal menu bar at the top) and display ancestors. Then hit control-f (which searches within the page, and works on ALL web pages) and search for the family name. That should get you the earliest ancestor. Work left and down from there.
Or you might want to go to the earliest or immigrant ancestor, choose the child marked with an orange do, and keep going until you hit a female descendant.]]
Her Name birth date & place - death date & place
His Name, if known birth date & place - death date & place
Marriage: marriage date and place
My great... grandparents

Description of the ancestor, if there is a description in a note or history document

Lineage

[[Show ancestors of the most recent ancestor, using the Text+ format, and showing "All" generations). List the direct line paternal ancestors (which are always at the top of the chart), starting with the generation below the earliest ancestor. The generation #'s are relative to me at generation 1. The generation # of the most recent ancestor can be calculated from my relations with her (e.g. great*n grandparents=4).]]
