Elizabeth married James Billingsley. The Billingsleys were a very old Maryland family having arrived there in 1648 from England via Holland. James was the executor of William Crabtree's will in 1756. Elizabeth and James left MD for NC about 1758 and moved to Guilford Co NC in 1768/9.

James Billingsley was very active in the American Revolutionary cause, and at least four sons were in the Continental service. For this he was resented and harrassed by Torries in the community and in April 1775 a group of these rouges invaded his home and murdered him. Elizabeth was there but was unable to prevent it. Later, she wrote it all down in the family bible.

After James died, Elizabeth later moved to Warren Co KY and lived with her son John. In 1832, at the age of 105, she traveled to McMinn Co TN to visit her son Walter Billingsley. She was a great conversationalist with a bright memory and loved to talk about the past.
